             The braking rate of Chilton

             Suppression coefficients (Chilton Coefficient) can reside within the range of 0,1-:-1,5.
             When calculating the cost of the property under the valuation, when one has to make an adjustment for the difference between the property under valuation and the comparison property, that is manufacturing capacity, weight carrying capacity, power, etc., one can use the formula below:

             val = comp * [val / comp]n , in which:

             val - is the value (price) of the property under valuation;
             comp - is the value (price) of the comparison property;
             val - is the major characteristics of the property under valuation;
             comp - is the major parameter of the comparison property;
             n - is Chilton coefficient.

             The formula provides for an exponential dependency between the cost and the major price forming factor. Most frequently, the range of Chilton coefficient values is rather narrow: from 0.6 to 0.8. In most cases the average value of the Chilton coefficient is used, which is 0.7.
             The suppression coefficient is calculated based on the statistical data and depending on the production capacity (power or other major characteristics) or it is determined as an average value, 0.6-0.8 Valuation of Machinery and Equipment: Guidelenes edited by V.P. Antonov M. and others.: Institute of Appraisal of Natural Resources, pages 57-58.


             It is possible to determine the price suppression Chilton coefficient by using the formula below:

             n = [ lg(C1/C2) ] / [ lg(P1/P2) ] , in which:

             1 2 - are the prices for the 1st and the 2nd comparison properties correspondingly;
             1 2 - is the price forming characteristic of the 1st and the 2nd comparison properties.
